A little about me. I have always had some interest in eating healthy and using products that were safe, natural and healthy. Little did I know back then, many of the products on store shelves might have claimed to be all those, but upon closer inspection, really weren’t. I soon learned that “natural” took on a whole new meaning when a marketing department churned out ads and campaigns meant to influence my purchases.
It is thanks to my quest for a deodorant that wouldn’t fail mid-day AND did not contain questionable ingredients that might affect my health, that I started to pay more attention to what companies meant when they claimed their products were natural. After all, poison ivy is natural, but who wants to frolic in it?
I have spent the past decade learning and relearning how to create my own safe and healthy products. In 2009, I founded Nandi’s Naturals and began offering my handmade products to the general public. Our growth has been steady. Our customers know that we don’t solely sell them a product—we provide them the information needed to help decide what’s best for them, even if it’s not our product.
One of the things I love most about running my own business is that I’m not forced to manipulate a prospective buyer into purchasing from our company simply to meet a sales quota. I also get to prove to others that good quality service and good quality products can both be had at the same company, and that natural can actually mean natural. This is why I have created my own Simplicity Pledge. Under this pledge, I promise to always list all ingredients all the time. I also promise to never use synthetic fragrances, colors, preservatives or other artificial additives in our products. In other words, truly keeping everything free and clear of synthetic perfumes, dyes, scents, etc.
This blog serves as an extension of my online store. Here, I will share with you my love for safe and healthy body care products. If you’re in the metro-Atlanta area, you can also place an order and pick up in-person. Our pickup spot is located at 1083 Euclid Avenue, Atlanta, GA 30307, in Da Spot. Current hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 1 p.m. – 8 p.m., and Sunday, from 1 p.m. – 7 p.m. The pickup location is inside the Four Corners Free Market in Little Five Points. FREE parking is available for Market patrons.
