I have to stop delaying the writing of a blog post, because what happens is that I have so much to fill you in on, I don’t know where to begin. No matter where I start, if I’m not careful, things could get lengthy. Sooooooo, as many probably already know, especially if you receive my newsletter—and you should be receiving my newsletter, if you’re not—is that we’re all moved in and snuggly in our new space in Little Five Points. Every day I do business there, I KNOW that I made the right choice. The vibe, the street life, the flavor of the people, the Jamaican restaurant in the rear of our building . . . yeah, I’m in the right place, mon.
Since the move-in, I’ve been my usual slow-and-methodically-paced self. Every couple of weeks, I’ve added a few more things to the lineup, most specifically raw materials and packaging for the DIYer. It is my goal to be able to provide DIYers with pretty much any raw material they need to be able to make a product THAT DAY. As long as the item falls within our Simplicity Pledge guidelines, we’ll consider it for addition to our shelves. Are you familiar with our pledge? If not, here’s a short summary:
Under this pledge, I [Nandi’s Naturals] promise to always list all ingredients all the time. I also promise to never use synthetic fragrances, colors, preservatives or other artificial additives in our products. In other words, truly keeping everything free and clear of synthetic perfumes, dyes, scents, etc.
With that said, some exclusions, as they say, do apply. One such exclusion is that we will not carry items such as fragrance oils or micas. I know, I know, some articles say micas aren’t that bad and that could well be so, but we believe it blurs the lines of our pledge, so unfortunately, we won’t be carrying them now or in the near future. BUT we do have great carrier oils, like avocado, castor, coconut, jojoba seed, macadamia nut and sunflower. We’ll be adding jojoba seed, coconut, olive and palm oils real soon. Our palm oil will be responsibly and sustainably sourced, of course!
What I’m super excited about are the essential oils. I cannot wait until we’ve got them ready for you! Essential oils and dried herbs and spices . . . and more packaging. Every product maker needs packaging. Our selection isn’t huge, but that will change as time goes on and we become more acclimated to our environment. Meaning, as we analyze the needs of our customers. ;-) Do you feel the excitement I feel as I share all this? I hope so, because the future is looking REAL GOOD for Nandi’s Naturals. For so long, I felt smothered by our old box, so I came in one day, realized I’d drawn it in chalk, erased it and drew a much larger one with one side missing. This way, I’m free to leave this box, should the quarters become too cramped.
I want to thank all of you from the bottom of my little ol’ heart for riding with me all these years. It’s been a hell of a journey. I cannot wait to show you what else we have up our sleeves. ♥
